Document Checklist
Under the Foreign Marriage Act of 1969, the Embassy of India, Muscat solemnizes/ register marriages outside India, where at least one of the applicants is an Indian and must have residence visa of Oman.
Bridegroom, Bride and three witnesses are required to appear before Marriage Officer for signatures with their original passports at the time of signing the notice form and at the time of solemnization/registration of the Marriage. A copy of the Notice for intended marriage will be displayed on the ICAC notice board for 30 days. After 30 days of notice period, marriage will be solemnized/registered on a fixed date and time.
The following formalities are to be completed before the marriage is solemnized. A Newspaper advertisement is to be given as a first step by the individuals in local English Newspaper as well as English Newspaper in the place of permanent residence indicated in the Passport in India.
