Follow the below steps in order to apply

• Create an account (Register yourself) on SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. Click Here to register.
• Fill the Govt of India's Online Passport Application Form, by following these steps:
• Register through the Global Passport Seva Online Portal. (Choose your country of residence, complete the required information and click on "Register" link. Click Here to visit the Global Passport Seva Online Portal.
• Login to the Global Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID created in the previous step.
• Select "Type of Service"
• Fill in the required details in the application form and submit.
• Click the "Print Application Form" link to print the application details containing Application Reference Number (ARN) and other details.
• Book your appointment online at SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. You can choose a convenient date and time to visit the SGIVS ICAC for your application submission. Click Here to book your appointment online.  
• Ensure that you have your passport, photographs and all other supporting documents, exactly as per the "Documents Checklist" section
• 2 recent Passport size photos(51mm x 51mm) not older than Three months, no uniform ,with white background , DARK DRESS and frontal view. Eyebrows should be visible. Ears, forehead chin to be completely visible. In case of locals wearing qandoura the background should be in light blue. Clarity of the photo is very important - Edited, blurred or unclear photos should not be accepted.Photo specifications can be seen Here.
• Visit the SGIVS ICAC, as per your jurisdiction. The address and location of the ICAC will be clearly mentioned in the appointment letter. 
• Kindly ensure you reach the ICAC 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. 
• Submit your application and deposit your fees at SGIVS ICAC. You can check the fee for this application under the "Fee Details" section.

Document Checklist

• Application Form
  • Complete the passport application online at https://mportal.passportindia.gov.in/gpsp by uploading the photograph (as per ICAO standards), signature, and all supporting documents. After signing in the designated places, upload the signed application form on the same portal.
• Photograph Requirements
  • As per ICAO standards Click Here for Photo Specification
  • Photographs should be recent (within six months) in dark color, against white Background.
  • Head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from Bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown
• Passport & Resident Card
  • Original Passport – Mandatory for submission.
  • Original Resident Card – for verification only.
  • Self-attested copies of: Passport (front & last page) Oman Resident Card

Note:

• Passport will be retained and returned along with the new passport.
• Resident Card will be returned after verification.

Eligibility for Short Validity Passport (SVP)

• House Maid
  Applicants working under domestic worker category where full validity passport cannot be issued due to documentation or verification limitations.
• Expired Visa / Resident Card (More than 3 Months)
  Applicants whose Oman visa or Resident Card has expired beyond 3 months, and regular passport issuance is not permissible.
• Tatkal Cases with Pending/Unclear Police Verification
  Applicants applying under Tatkal category where police verification is not clear.
• Embassy-Approved Special Cases
  Any other cases specifically approved by the Embassy based on individual circumstances.

Additional Documents (If Applicable)

• Visa Expired Cases
  • Employer letter stating: Reason for visa expiry, Confirmation of new visa issuance and undertaking to settle penalties.
  • Letter must be signed by authorized person (Sponsor/Manager).
  • Attachment: Copy of signatory’s Resident ID and Valid Commercial Registration (CR).
  • For domestic workers: Sponsor letter + sponsor ID copy only.
• Address Change
  Provide any one of the following documents clear copies:
  • Water Bill.
  • Telephone (landline or postpaid mobile bill).
  • Electricity bill
  • Income Tax Assessment Order
  • Election Commission Photo ID card
  • Proof of Gas Connection
  • Spouse's passport copy (First and last page including family details mentioning applicant's name as spouse of the passport holder), (provided the applicant's present address matches the address mentioned in the spouse's passport).
  • Parent's passport copy, in case of minors (First and last page)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Rent Agreement
  • Photo Passbook of running Bank Account (Scheduled Public Sector Banks, Scheduled Private Sector Indian Banks and Regional Rural Banks only)

  Note: The name and address mentioned in the submitted document must exactly match the details in the applicant’s passport and application form. In case of minors, the parent’s name should match exactly with the passport records.

• Marriage, Divorce and Separated Case
  • For addition of Spouse Name in passport:
    • Government issued MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE along with the spouse’s ID proof.
    • Joint Photo Declaration signed by both husband and wife (Annexure J) along with the spouse’s ID proof.
  • For deletion of Spouse Name:
    • Divorce Order/Decree.
  • For Change of Spouse Name:
    • Divorce Order/Decree or Death Certificate of first spouse's name and Re-marriage certificate or Joint Photo Declaration signed by both husband and wife (Annexure J) along with the spouse’s ID proof.
  • For a change of surname by women applicant following marriage/divorce:
    • Marriage Certificate or Joint Photo Declaration signed by both husband and wife (Annexure J) along with the spouse’s ID proof.
    • Divorce Order/Decree (if name/surname change is based on divorce).
• In case of a full change of name after marriage, the standard name change procedure should be followed.
• Payment will be made at the ICAC counter.
