Follow the below steps in order to apply

1. Create an account (Register yourself) on SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. Click Here to register.
2. Properly filled up online application form with signature of the applicant –www.indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
3. 2 recent Passport size photos (51mm x 51mm) not older than Three months, no uniform, with white background, DARK DRESS and frontal view. Eyebrows should be visible. Ears, forehead chin to be completely visible. In case of locals wearing qandoura the background should be in light blue. Clarity of the photo is very important - Edited, blurred or unclear photos should not be accepted.
4. Valid Passport in original with clear photocopy. Old passport needs to be carried, in case the valid UAE Resident visa on it along with the photocopy
5. Ensure that you select the appropriate option for the dropdown "Indian Mission/Office" as per your correct jurisdiction. To know your jurisdiction, refer to the "Jurisdiction" section.
6. Print and sign your application
7. Book your appointment online at SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. You can choose a convenient date and time to visit the SGIVS ICAC for your application submission. Click Here to book your appointment online.  
8. Ensure that you have your passport, photographs and all other supporting documents, exactly as per the "Documents Checklist" section.
9. Visit the SGIVS ICAC, as per your jurisdiction. The address and location of the ICAC will be clearly mentioned in the appointment letter. 
10. Kindly ensure you reach the ICAC 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. 
11. Submit your application and deposit your fees at SGIVS ICAC. You can check the fee for this application under the "Fee Details" section.
12. Enroll for Biometrics at SGIVS ICAC (if required)

Entry Visa

Entry Visa (X - Visa) can be granted to the following people: Spouse/children of a foreigner of Indian origin. A person of Indian origin, who wishes to visit India for holidays and other purposes.

Important points to be noted during visa application:

• Duly filled up online application form with signature of the applicant indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
• 2 recent Passport size photos (51mm x 51mm) not older than Three months, no uniform, with white background, DARK DRESS and frontal view. Eyebrows should be visible. Ears, forehead chin to be completely visible. In case of locals wearing qandoura the background should be in light blue. Clarity of the photo is very important - Edited, blurred or unclear photos should not be accepted.
• Valid Passport in original with clear photocopy. Old passport needs to be carried, in case the valid Oman Resident visa on it along with the photocopy.
• Self-attested photocopy of Proof of Current address in Oman of the applicant.

Additional Documents Required

For Persons of Indian Origin and foreign spouse & foreign children of an Indian citizen/Person of Indian Origin/ OCI cardholder (other than those registered as OCI cardholder)

• Proof of Indian origin {A photocopy of “Certificate for Renunciation of Indian Citizenship/Certificate for Surrender of Indian Passport”, If the applicant is of previous Indian Passport holder: Indian origin (born Indian);
• A photocopy of marriage certificate (Apostilled as applicable), copy of spouse’s passport or Certificate for Renunciation of Indian Citizenship/Certificate for Surrender of Indian Passport/OCI Card of spouse is required, If the applicant is a spouse of Indian national/person of Indian origin; A photocopy of Birth certificate, marriage certificate of parents, copy of parents passport or Certificate for Renunciation of Indian Citizenship/Certificate for Surrender of Indian Passport/OCI Card of parents is required, If the applicant is a child of Indian national/person of Indian origin}

If the applicant is Spouse of Indian national/ person of Indian origin (the documents mentioned below to be attached with the application form):

• A copy of marriage certificates (Apostilled as applicable).
• A copy of passport/ Surrender Certificate of Indian Passport / OCI Card issued to the Spouse of the applicant.

In case of a Minor child, Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate of the parents with a consent letter signed by both parents / if one parent, a copy of custody letter from local court.

For those coming to join Auroville Foundation, Aurobindo Ashram, Missionaries of Charity, Temples or similar approved organizations

• If the applicant wishes to join Auroville Foundation / Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry / Missionaries of Charity, Kolkata / similar approved organizations, temples, Buddhist Monasteries/other Buddhist organizations for charity work
• Official invitation letter issued by the Secretary of Auroville Foundation / Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry / Missionaries of Charity, Kolkata / similar approved organizations, temples, Buddhist Monasteries/other Buddhist organizations. This document must be provided in its original sealed envelope (by Auroville Foundation).

For those who is owing property in India and for purposes which are not covered by any other visa category

• Permission letter issued by Reserve Bank of India/relevant State Govt. authorities regarding the ownership of the property, for those applicants who is owing a property in India
• Proof of payment of the applicable fee.
• Under Family details: The applicant must specify the previous nationality of both the parents. Applicant should not leave that blank.
• Photograph should be mandatorily uploaded before submitting the online application form.
