True Copy Attestation

Important Notes:

  • The documents issued by Government Authority of India, can be Attested by the Consulateonly if the documents are attested / apostilled by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Visit the Indian Government's Portal for more details.
  • For documents issued in Government Authority of Oman, they must be attested by the MoFA.

Follow the below steps in order to apply

  1. Create an account (Register yourself) on SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. Click Here to register.
  2. Book your appointment online at SGIVS Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) website. You can choose a convenient date and time to visit the SGIVS ICAC for your application submission. Click Here to book your appointment online.  
  3. Ensure that you have your all other supporting documents, exactly as per the "Documents Checklist" section. 
  4. Visit the SGIVS ICAC, as per your jurisdiction. The address and location of the ICAC will be clearly mentioned in the appontment letter. 
  5. Kindly ensure you reach the ICAC 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. 
  6. Submit your application and deposit your fees at SGIVS ICAC. You can check the fee for this application under the "Fee Details" section. 
  7. Your application submission process is now complete! You can avail our Courier service to get your attested document(s) delivered to your doorstep!

Document Checklist:

All personal and professional certificates issued in India must be attested by the General Administration Department (Home Department) of the concerned State and apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India, prior to submission for attestation.

  • Applicant Presence
    The applicant must appear in person.
  • Passport / Resident Card
    A self-attested copy of the applicant’s passport and Oman Resident Card must be submitted.
    Original documents must be presented for verification

a) QR Code / Apostille Requirement

  • Documents containing a QR code will be accepted only if the QR code can be successfully verified through an official government verification portal.
  • If the QR code is not verifiable, the document must be apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India.
  • All documents without a QR code must be apostilled prior to submission.

b) Medical Leave (For Other Nationals – Treatment Taken in India)

  • Passport
    Original passport must be presented along with a self-attested copy.
  • Resident Card
    Original Oman Resident Card must be presented along with a self-attested copy.
  • Visa & Travel Record
    Copy of the visa along with passport pages showing entry and exit immigration stamps must be submitted.
  • Medical Leave Certificate
    Original leave certificate issued by the hospital in India must be submitted.
    The certificate should clearly mention the leave period, and the dates must exactly match the entry and exit dates in the passport.
  • The leave period mentioned in the medical certificate must strictly correspond with the applicant’s travel dates as per passport records.
  • Any discrepancy in dates may lead to rejection or delay in processing.
  • The travel should be undertaken on a medical visa.
  • If the travel was on a tourist visa, the attestation will be subject to approval.

Notes:

  • Validity of Documents
    Ensure that all passports and Oman Resident Cards are valid (not expired) at the time of submission.
  • Original Documents for Verification
    All original documents must be brought to the center for verification. Photocopies alone will not be accepted without presentation of original documents for verification.
    The Embassy attests documents based on prior authentication and does not verify the content independently.
    All original documents will be verified and returned after processing.
